Paris is beautiful in all seasons and in all weather. It really is. But of course there are always a few favorite places to wander in each season to appreciate whatever is most colorful and in-bloom in that season. Spring has its spots (Parc de Sceaux and the garden next to Notre Dame, to name a couple), but autumn has its own as well. My personal favorite, and that of many others, of all the Paris gardens in fall is the Jardin du Luxembourg. People flock there to see the changing plantings throughout the seasons. The large urns are often overflowing with mums, and the beds in front of the Sénat are always a surprise. As I’ve said before, the gardeners of Paris are such visionaries… and they always nail it. This year, we have a red theme, and it’s just breathtaking!
Although I don’t share any photos of it here, the western part of the garden that is more enclosed paths surrounded by trees is also a magical part of the garden that I think many people miss.
Enjoy this tour through the garden. To shop for any of the images, simple click on the photo and you’ll be directed to my print shop.
