When Rebecca and I were traipsing around Paris last October with a bunch of red balloons, one of the spots we put them at was in front of the awning of Café Bonaparte in St. Germain des Prés. I had passed this café a million times but never had paid it much attention. Our use of it in the photos got me noticing it as a potential subject (it’s so often overlooked by passers-by with its famous neighbors the church of St. Germain des Prés, Les Deux Magots, and Café Flore), so one afternoon last month I decided to stop for a drink there. The way they served my chocolat chaud was as charming as the waiter and the café, itself. It’s a new favorite.
Ahhh oui !
